I'll be getting a film scanner soon! Yay, my dad finally said yes to the V700. I could've gotten a scanner earlier - the Canoscan 8800f - but after seeing that PRA has the V700 for sale, my heart was set on that one!

I am so tempted to buy either a Pentax 67 or the Zenza Bronica. They're no Hasselblads but they're still pretty good. There's a Pentax 67 that's going on eBay for $290 right now but it comes without a lens. I've looked through eBay for them but they're either expensive or very hard to find cheap. Even the ones on KEH were expensive. Maybe I should try to bid on the Bronica. But the image format is not the same. I'm starting to fall in love with the 6 x 7 format that the Pentax takes.

Argh. Decisions decisions. The Bronica is pretty tempting though. It comes with only 1 lens but the accessories that the person is auctioning is quite a lot. Hmm. But. I would be better off with a Hassy right? Ehehe. Heh, I hope I find a good deal on Photographic Trader when May comes. Would be an awesome birthday present :D

I've been back in Perth for a week now.

Life's been pretty slow. Classes are not starting till next week so I've been glued to the computer pretty much half of the day. I'm browsing around for photography blogs. I've been trying to find ones that do photojournalism or street photography and so far the ones that I've seen are the artsy ones.

Central TAFE has a short course on B/W darkroom printing. I'm so tempted to enrol as it's only 10 weeks and classes are held once a week.

I've also been trying to come up with a topic that I can work on for my honours project. My mind has been a big blank for now. Urgh. I hope I can find something. I'm itching to do something that's related to film photography. Wanted to do something that was related to animation at first but I'm leaning more and more towards photography right now.

The family's gonna be arriving today. I can finally get the film scanner :D That means I'll be using my film cameras more as it will be cheaper for me to get the films processed and scan the negs myself.

I'm finally back in KK. Have been back for about a week now. I think.

Life here has been pretty average. I have my usual lunches with my mum. The only thing that I don't have to do now is send and pick up my mum. Which is good cause that means I don't have to wake up early.

One thing that's been pretty annoying here is the Internet. Streamyx has been sucky. It's really slow. It's so slow that I haven't been unable to watch any videos. Also, whenever I download anything, my MSN gets disconnected.

I am also missing my cacat terribly. I'm so used to waking up next to him every morning. I miss our morning coffee together. And next year, there will be no more of that.

Sigh.

Ah well.

I'll be going to KL on Friday! Yay! I'll be going to Klang first on Thursday cause my sister has a meeting there on Friday. And on Sunday, I'll meet my awesome awesome cacat! I'll also be going to Singapore with his family on the 18th. So more yays. I haven't been there for the longest time.

I've been here since Wednesday and I've taken so little photos. Most of the time I'm lazy to use my DSLR cause it's so big and heavy. I wished I had a smaller camera (like the G11 or the LX3) instead.

The other day I brought my 430 with me and I managed to almost finish the pack that was in there. There's one more shot left in the camera. Most of the shots were so fail (cause I took the fail ones in not-so-bright situations). Urgh. I wished the ISO on the pack films were higher.

Shall be posting photos soon, probably on Thursday.

I received two parcels yesterday! Whee!

One has my Fuji Pack Film which I have been waiting since forever to reach here.

Now that I have these, I can finally try the Land Camera that I bought last month! I'm kinda scared to do it though. I've read other people's accounts of their first time with pack film and most of them had trouble getting the film out of the camera.

I need to get hair pins or bobby pins or whatever they're called. I have them but the ones that I've got has this annoying bubble thingy at the end. I need ones that are straight! Another method that I could try is to just put in the film right now and to get the first 2 films out by opening the back of the camera just a teeny wee bit so it's easier to pull out. Meh. Let's see if I can find the correct bobby pins first.

The other parcel has the two Minolta rangefinders that I bought from eBay.

I wanna test these two but I just realized that I still have unfinished rolls of film in a few of my other cameras. I should really stock up on those cheapo 24-exposure films for doing tests with my new cameras; it'll be way easier to finish.

Yashica Electro 35 GSN

I received another package yesterday and this is what it contained:

My extremely gorgeous Yashica Electro 35 GSN! Just look at it, ain't it beautiful? I've had my eye on this for a while now and I'm glad I waited this long - I only got it for $41! Most of the auctions that I've seen last time had this baby going for more than $100.

The camera came with a case, a lens cap and a sky filter.

The camera's pretty big. I would say that it's as big as my Olympus OM10. It's also quite heavy, feels like a brick - you could hurt someone with this!

I put in a new battery in the camera yesterday as well and I'm glad to say that the meter works! Since the battery that the camera uses is not longer manufactured, I used a combination of 1 CR123 + 2 LR44 with copper wires instead.

The only thing that worries me about the camera is the light seal. I'm gonna try to finish and develop a roll with it as soon as possible. If there are light leaks, then there's always Max!

Can't wait to try this baby out tomorrow!

I love receiving parcels.

I love listening for the postman, waiting for him to knock on the door.

I love it when there's a parcel outside the door (cause I didn't hear the postman's knock!).

Just last week I received a parcel containing the Polaroid Spectra films that I bought from EvilBay.

I was finally able to utilize my Polaroid Spectra that has been sitting around gathering dust!

This is the first shot (the one on the right) that came out of it. I was so excited to find that the battery still works in the film! (And that my camera still works!)

And a few weeks before that, I received another one that contained my Polaroid Land camera.

I've fixed it (well, Aaron did) so that it can use CR123 batteries (cause the actual battery that the camera uses is not manufactured anymore). I haven't had a chance to use it yet though. I'm still waiting for the films to arrive.

Can't wait for the others to come in the next few weeks!

I think I shall bring my Seagull to uni everyday for a few days. I'm trying to finish up a roll that's in it and all the shots that I'm taking are of the university. Since this will be my last semester here, *SOB* I might as well take a few photos for remembrance.

And once I finish that roll, I am planning to develop them as soon as possible (next week, I hope) cause I've been wanting to see how the Yashica's meter is performing! I shot an entire roll using the Yashica's meter. I'm hoping that it is accurate so I can try some slide film with it next.

Argh. Been awake since 2-ish trying to finish my textured 3D model of a tin can. I've been doing it since yesterday and I'm still on it because of the annoying pull-tab! Blasted thing is so hard to model. Right now I've stopped adding the detail that I've been trying to do for two bloody hours because it was just taking too long. So now I'm just going to continue doing the texturing.

Info of the day! If you want to remove a label from a tin can, heat up the label (I used a hair dryer) first for about 3-10 seconds. It should be easier to remove and your label won't be destroyed!

I've been so mean to you today. I'm sorry.

I'll be getting a haircut tomorrow. It's more of a trim actually. My ends of my hair has been bothering me quite a bit these past few months. I have lots of split ends which makes my hair dry (only at the ends) and annoying when it's tangled!

I'm probably gonna dye it as well cause now I have like half black and half coloured hair. Urgh. Hopefully they'll cut it first before colouring cause the price for colouring longer hair is much more expensive!

It would be better to get a 15" inch laptop than a 17" one right? If I go for 17", I might as well get a desktop. And besides, it's heavier (it's about 3kgs!) and bigger which makes it less convenient to bring around. But, I still want a desktop though cause I don't have one right now. It would be easier to have a desktop AND a laptop cause I don't to plug/unplug stuff when I want to use a computer. But my laptop's lagging like shit when I do 3D stuff. And my Adobe programs are not running as fast (well, that's partly my fault. I shouldn't have upgraded them to CS4). Argh. Can't bloody decide. And hrm, if I go to his place, then that would mean I wouldn't be able to do my 3D work if I had a desktop.

There are so many types. I'm currently reading the article on Photoethnography.com and I was thinking of maybe buying one the ones that he listed in the article. And bloody hell, the light meter I saw on PRA is friggin' expensive ($500++, close to $600!).

I'm also reading up on medium format SLRs. There was one post that I read saying that the Bronica SQ system was popular with wedding photographers so I might just ask my dad to get me that one.

I had a dream on Sunday. I dreamt that my camera came a day earlier. And guess what, it came true.

I was testing all the knobs and buttons when I first got it this morning. I opened the back and I found out that there is a film in there. Meh. It has been exposed! Well, at least that film's not mine. And I've got loads of films that I haven't used yet.

We went to PRA Imaging today cause Sara wanted to buy 120 film to test out her brand new (well to her anyways) Lubitel 2.

I got myself two rolls of film as well - Fujifilm PRO 160C and Fuji Reala 100. I actually wanted to buy 3 rolls but they didn't have one more that I wanted.

I was checking out at the space on the cabinet where I store my films and I just realized that I have a lot that I haven't used yet.

Urr yeah, there's a lot.

There are 10 rolls of expired 35mm film there. I don't feel like using them just yet, cause expired films are so hard to find.

And 4 rolls of BW film! There's one more in my Rolleicord. I must go shooting with that film one day.

I'll have to go and develop some films as well.

Meh. It's so bloody expensive. It's about $20 PER ROLL. Bloody hell. If I can just get my hands on a 120 film scanner, all I'd have to do is to pay for developing only which is only about $6. The thing that makes it so expensive is the scanning AND you have to pay for the bloody CD as well. Maybe I'll bring my own CD when I go and develop it next time.

Then there's the presentation for Gonni's class. I'm worried for that one. Cause my design is meh-ish. And my Flash output for that one is going really slow. That's what you get for not continually using it. The last time that I used was the time that I was in LUCT! Shit x2.

And finally, I'll have to submit my internet usability stuff on Friday. I didn't even know that the submission for that one is on that day. I thought it would be the week after! Shit x3.

Well, the day's not over yet. There's still an hour plus left to go. I might cram in some animation work. Need to find some good references of bunnies jumping before I can start animating!

Can't remember what time I woke up today. It was either 11, 12 or 1-ish. Wasn't really paying attention to the clock. Woke up, stayed on the bed some more and after a few hours (or minutes, can't really remember), finally got out of bed to get something to eat.

Had lunch at the living room and lazed around some more! Watched him played Plants vs. Zombies. That game is addictive. I downloaded it yesterday and I was playing a few levels just now. After watching him play a few levels, I knew what to expect and what to use to kill them zombies. It still is fun though.

We also played this flash game called Grow Tower and we managed to complete it! Woots! Even took a screenshot of the whole tower.

Ngeh. I think I'm coming down with the flu. No people, it's not the swine flu dammit. Just because my flu happens to coincide with the swine flu news does not mean that I have swine flu. It's most probably because of the changing weather. WINTER COMING SOON!

I am so obsessed with old cameras, polaroids and lomography right now. I just bought a few old cameras from ebay and 1 of them just came yesterday (gosh, I hope the others don't get lost in the mail or something).

Introducing, the Ricoh 35ZF:

The ZF in the name stands for Zone Focusing, which means this camera does not have a rangefinder meaning I have to guesstimate distance! That should be fun. Still have to find out if it's working or not. I'll have to buy the battery. The actual battery for this camera is actually no longer in production but according to the web, you can substitute it with size 675 hearing aid batteries (which I can hopefully find here). And I'll also have to buy film.

And this is another one that I've had since I was like 9 or 10 years old. My dad bought it for me when he went to Singapore. Introducing, the Polaroid Spectra:

The camera produces pictures in a rectangular format instead of the square ones that you usually associate with Polaroids. And I don't know whether this is working either. Films made for this camera are so hard to come by in stores (especially in Perth). You can actually buy them online. BWPhoto is selling them for about US$48.95 in packs of 3. It's quite okay but when you add the shipping costs, bleh.

Oh yay!

Just got it today (thanks Dad!).

The photo was taken with the lens. Isn't the blur at the back just amazing? I'll be going to Kundasang tomorrow with my friends and I'm bringing both lenses! Whee!

And the next lens that I want is a Nikon 12-24mm lens. Wide angle! Oh and a 85mm lens cause the bokeh is just so awesome with that lens.

My iPod has gone insane. The screen won't stop flashing! It won't turn on. I tried resetting it but that doesn't work. Even connecting it to the computer doesn't work.

If that thing is broke then, that is SHIT. Almost ALL my music is on that thing.

I googled my problem on the internet, found another person with that same problem but he didn't say whether he fixed it or not. He even took a video of it.

I love the results the you get using the letterpress. Anybody knows where I can intern at a company/studio/firm that does letterpress? Would love to see people doing it in person. I wanna try it myself too!

Do you know that you can find high-res images of the Head & Shoulders bottle? They have them in CMYK and RGB versions. For the CMYK version, they even have the EPS file available.

Found them while I was doing an assignment. I actually took a photo first but it sucked (bleh, the shadows on the bottle was not uniformed and they looked a bit yellow. I know you can fix them in Photoshop but I was lazy).

The bottle has some text in a foreign language but that it was easily fixed in Photoshop. I used the Smooth & Silky bottle but it didn't say "Smooth & Silky". Had to change the "Hydrating" part as well as the text below the Head & Shoulders logo. I found out that I could use Myriad Pro for the text. After that, I just needed to adjust the font size and the tracking and it looked like it belonged on the bottle! Well, sorta.

Two awesome things happened today.

I got a new monitor AND the posters (the two smaller posters, the other one is a print that I got from Frankie magazine) that I ordered from AllPosters came today! How awesome is that (and how pathetic does my laptop monitor look compared with the bigger one)?

I opened After Effects and opened a file with the new monitor and the comp actually fit! I can view the comp at 100% without having to zoom in! WHEEEEEE!

The only thing I need now is an external keyboard because I wanna make the bigger monitor the main one AND it's hurting my neck turning sideways to view it.

Yay! I've finally found a way to loop a comp without having to pre-render it first! Enable time remapping the comp layer and put an expression as explained here.

HURRAH!

Now I'm able to have the object go from left to right while going up and down easily. If I hadn't known that little trick that I've found, I would've just copied the comp gabazillion times and change the position of every single one of them. That would've been crazy!

Our Multimedia lecturer actually thought the pre-rendering thingy last week but I just find that troublesome.

And I shall continue on to the rest of my animation. Bleh.

I've been awake since 9-ish morning yesterday and I haven't slept since. Not even for a nap. I am still trying to finish my annual report. 2 sections and 2 pages left woohoo.

Yess, I've been procrastinating. Harhar. Reading blogs (in fact I just came upon a nice blog which I'll read later!) and playing games.

I have about less than an hour and a half till I have to finish this damn thing.

And I'm still blogging. BLEH. WHERE ARE MY PRIORITIES?

Gwah. Leaving the house at 2pm. Student Central first then to the resource center to print stuff out. Presentation's at 3 and hopefully will finish by at least 5pm. After that we'll have to drive off to the airport fast (eeeek, takes about 30minutes!) to pick up the modem. Thennn, we have to drive fast to Carousel cause I've scored free tickets to Burn After Reading which starts at 6.45pm.

Man. I hope I don't faint or something. I wanna watch the movie cause Brad Pitt's in it. Yummers.

There is a friggin' spider in my room!

It was on the table ZOMG!

It's a small one. But it BLOODY JUMPS! It's almost as scary as flying cockroaches. I wanted to make sure it doesn't go under the poster that I have stuck on the wall, so I put my hand on the poster with the intention of closing the small gap underneath the poster. Smacked my hand just a little bit too hard and the bloody thing jumped! Scared the shit out of me (whattttt, it could've gone on to my face or something)!

One thing that's weird about it is that after crawling for a few seconds, it'll stop and flex its leg. Weird.

I have a sudden fascination with Polaroid photography. I called mum a few days ago and I asked whether the camera is still somewhere in the house and yayness, it is! The last time that I used it was when I was still in primary school. Wow, that's a long time ago. Can't remember why I stopped using it. It was either out of film or the battery was dead. Hopefully the camera's not broken or anything, don't know where to get it fixed!

Hrmm... too bad my fascination came way way late. Apparently, the Polaroid company is gonna cease production gradually from Feb 2008 to early 2009. Ngeh. Polaroid films! I'll have to try to buy them before they become totally extinct!

There is this one thread in Flikr talking about maybe Fuji taking over the production of the films, hopefully it's true!

It's 2.42am and I still haven't finish reading an essay that we'll be discussing during class ~~tomorrow~~ today. We're also suppose to find 2 examples for all three communication models that the lecturer talked about last week. I've found none. I suppose I could bullshit something about the first one (transmission model) but for the other two, I don't know know what I'm suppose to do! Googled the model name and nothing (relevant) came out.

And it's so shitty that I can only use the internet after 12am! Eh, actually I can use it before that but there's no point cause the speed is way too slow (64kb!). Gah, I hate internet with limits.

Rapidshare Premium Account

I've finally gotten a premium account from Rapidshare. I bought it for RM23 and it is a one month account. So far, I am loving it. My download speed is excellent! It goes between 150 kb/s and 180 kb/s. Yeah, I know there are faster speeds out there (haih... the speed at which I downloaded while I was in the UK was faster but I can't remember what the exact speed was...), but if you're using Streamyx, that's quite okay. The lowest speed that I've gotten is 130 kb/s and highest is 200 kb/s.

Another reason for loving premium account is that you can use download managers to download the files! No more sitting in front of the computer and waiting for a download to finish so that you can connect/disconnect your internet for you to get a new IP so that you'll be able to download the next file.

The only download manager that has worked for me is the Internet Download Manager. I've tried FreeDownloadManager, Orbit Downloader, and FlashGet without success. There's a post in the Lowyat forum on how to download multiple rapidshare links (go down to post #2) using IDM. It works great cause I have this thing that I'm downloading and to complete it, you have to download 53 files!

Rapidshare Happy Hour

Meh. At first I liked the Happy Hour thing that Rapidshare is having right now (cause you don't have to enter the CAPTCHAs), but now I find it annoying. The speeds are bloody slow. Even downloading with the Download Accelerator does not make the speed any faster. And if I want to change the download server, I'd have to get the link by viewing the source.

Gahhh. When does this Happy Hour end? I want my normal download speed back!

Video tutorials

I've been watching a whole lotta video tutorials these days, mostly tutorials for After Effects and Maya.

Out of all the tutorials that I have, the tutor for Maya 2008 by Lynda.com has got to have the most boring voice ever. He's very mononotous. But I've only watched the first 5 tutorials so I hope that the rest of 'em won't be like that.

My favourite tutor? It's a tie between the guy who did the After Effects Training for Lynda.com (can't remember his name, I think it was Chad) and Andrew Kramer from Video Copilot (who, by the way has some awesome awesome tutorials for After Effects). They just sound so excited! Makes me feel like learning After Effects is fun!

Ikea!

Doesn't that look like the fugliest stylus that you've ever seen? First it got really dirty. Then it started getting loose. Now the thing is koyak. Mannnn, I need to replace it. I can still use it but it's so bloody annoying to hold it! Gah.

According to the Wacom site over here, the stylus is (WTF?!) RM149. So bloody expensive! Even the mouse is cheaper than that.

I am so bored.

I want to continue with my Animation & Motion Graphics assignment but I don't feel like it, just yet. Oh! I just found something that makes my animation easier: the Roughen Edges effect in After Effects. Good for making rusty stuff! Oh yeah.

I am currently downloading something. It's taking so damn long to finish. 45 bloody parts on Rapidshare. Each part is about 50MB. I've no idea why the person who uploaded it didn't just upload 100MB parts. Then I'd only have to disconnect/connect half the time.

Gah. After this one is finished, I'm gonna download another DVD. Damn. My hard drive is gonna be full real soon.

Creating Motion Graphic with After Effects (4th Edition) by Trish & Chris Meyer

I was searching for After Effects books on Amazon a few days ago and I stumbled upon this one. Almost everybody who reviewed it said that this book's awesome. I downloaded a copy of it (just to check it out, really) and the book's quite good. Lots of explanations for every single thing in the program.

I'm hoping to get this book by the weekend. I checked Kinokuniya and according to the site, the book is available in-store. I haven't checked the store yet though. I'm too bloody lazy to go to KLCC just to check whether they have it or not.

Something is WRONG with RapidShare!

I can't download ANYTHING.

Bloody hell.

This only started yesterday morning. The good thing about today was that I was able to download ONE file. After that finished, I tried downloading another file but I can't!

After entering the captcha, the page would just go back to the starting download page. No download box would appear.

Posted my problem in MechoDownload and somebody said to try and download with IE, but no such luck. I also found out that another person from Malaysia is having the same problem.

So if you've got a solution, PLEASE tell me!

There's this one recipe for a vegetarian soup that I found on the net. The soup needed saffron. And according to the creator of the recipe, ~~you MUST put saffron as it supposedly gives a taste like no other (or something like that) to the soup.~~ Oh, my mistake. I think saffron is optional. But read on anyways.

It was packed in a clear 3cm x 3cm x 3cm (I think the measurement was around that or it could have been just a teeny bit smaller) box.

The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory.

I'm currently reading The Meaning of Night. I'll probably finish it in 1 or 2 weeks (hopefully!) and then I can get started with either one of the two books left.

So far, I've read three books since the start of this year: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and Ugly by Constance Briscoe. All of the books were good!

If anybody is into chick lit, you should read any books by Cecelia Ahern. She currently has 4 books published; PS, I Love You, Where Rainbows End, If You Could See Me Now, and A Place Called Here. I've finally finished PS, I Love You and it was an excellent read! Made me tear up in a few places. Even though I've read everything that she has published already, I still want to buy Where Rainbows End cause I borrowed the book from my friend and I want to complete my Cecelia Ahern collection!

According to Wikipedia, she's coming out with two more books but I've no idea whether that's true or not because it's not stated anywhere in her website. Her two upcoming books are supposedly Desire Lines (which was suppose to come out last year) and Thanks for the Memories (coming out this year). I hope it's true!

She also has a few short stories written. There's one you can read online! It's called Mallard and May, click here to read it.

One more thing! Her book PS, I Love You has been turned into a movie! It came out on December 21st and I've no clue when it'll come out here.

I just bought a wireless router today. Spent like two hours configuring it and I've finally got it to work! Just had to change one number (thank you Google!) and the password (I keep confusing it with another password).

I think I can play more with the wireless tomorrow night (or evening if I'm lucky). I wanna know how fast my downloads are with the new modem!

As you may have known, I'm back in KK. Ooh, I just realized that I've been here for more than a week already! Here are some of what I've done since I've been back:

Went to Nina's to have dinner (spaghetti and her truly awesome chicken salad!). Jacinta (Nina's sister) just came back from her holiday and she bought these from Singapore. Aren't they awesome? The bottles come in box and both are smaller than the normal bottle (these bottles are 350 ml ones, I think).I would really love to try the creme caramel!

Had bak kut teh with mummy and Bradley. It was very yummy!

Playing with Poppy. I think she's gotten fatter. When I carried her, she was very heavy! Or maybe it's because I'm used to Kitty being small. Hrm.

Getting scratches from annoying Poppy. Hehe. I've got more scratches on my other hand.

OneRepublic, who doesn't know them? You've probably heard of their song Apologize on the radio already. Well anyway a few months ago, when I first heard of their song on Timbaland's album, Timbaland Presents: Shock Value (which by the way is quite good, you should give it a listen), the first thing that I did when I reached home was to wiki Timbaland to find out the name of the guy who sang in the song. And then I found OneRepublic! At that time, their album wasn't out yet. After waiting for a while, I finally got to download it. Here's the one that I downloaded:

OneRepublic's self-titled album. This was the one that was originally on Wikipedia.

After a few months, I checked the band again on Wikipedia and I found out that the name of their album and cover has changed! At Wikipedia, the songs listed in Dreaming out Loud was the same as the one in the previous one. Suprisingly, the album with the black cover is also gone from Wikipedia. Seeing the tracks were the same, I decided not to download it.

A few days ago, I checked again. Found out that the track listing has changed! And today, I decided to download it.

Lots of changes has been made in this album! Two songs from the previous album is not in this one: Sleep and Too Easy. They've also added a few new songs in the current album: Say (All I Need), All Fall Down, Come Home, and Won't Stop. Also, a few songs have changed: Tyrant, and All We Are. I still prefer the old versions of those two songs. And why did they remove Sleep??? It's one of my favourites from the album! Well, at least I still have it.

Taiko 10!

I went out to Midvalley with Vicky and David on Monday. Vicky wanted to see me playing taiko so we went to the one in Jusco. Imagine my suprise when I saw this:

It's Taiko version 10! And I thought the latest version was 9! EEEE! LOL I was jumping in circles when I saw it. I only played it once though, didn't feel like playing because there was a taiko expert there (GAWD, that guy was AWESOME! He played oni for both songs! Nearly got 100% for both).

So if anybody wants to try out the latest version, head to the arcade in Jusco Midvalley. Oh by the way, the version makes you choose the difficulty first, then the song. So annoying.

Oedipus (with vegetables)

A stop-motion movie made with vegetables. I think this must be one of the best I've seen. Just look at the fight at the start of the movie, damn good!

Caution: Please put your headphones on while viewing this movie because there's this one part where the vegetables have sex (don't worry, that part is dark ahaha) and the girl (??) was moaning pretty loud, LOL.

And here's the story, if anybody cares.

Laius and Jocasta were king and queen of Thebes, a town in Greece. One day, they had a baby boy. An oracle prophesied that the boy would grow up and kill his father and marry his mother. To thwart the prophecy, Laius and Jocasta decided to kill their baby. In those days, it was usual to leave an unwanted or defective baby in the wilderness. Laius and Jocasta did this. To be extra-sure, they pierced his little feet and tied them together. (Don't worry about this detail, which makes no sense. It must have been introduced to explain the hero's name.)

A kindly shepherd found the baby. He gave the baby to a friend, who took it to Corinth, another town. (Corinth reappears in the New Testament.) The king and queen of Corinth couldn't have a baby of their own. So they adopted the foundling.

Nobody ever told little Oedipus that his mother was never pregnant. One day, after he had grown up, a drunk mentioned his being adopted. Oedipus questioned his parents, but they denied it. Oedipus visited various oracles to find out whether he was really adopted. All the oracles told him instead that he would kill his father and marry his mother. (None of this makes much sense. Again, don't worry about it. This is a folk tale.)

To thwart the oracles, Oedipus left Corinth permanently. (Again, don't worry. Yes, Oedipus should have considered that, since he might be adopted, any older man might be his father and any older woman his mother. But this is a folk tale.)

Travelling the roads, Oedipus got into a traffic squabble and killed a stranger who (unknown to him) was King Laius. In one version, there was a dispute over right-of-way on a bridge. In those days, high rank got to go first, Oedipus identified himself as heir to the throne of Corinth, and for some reason (again, don't worry about it) Laius's people simply attacked instead of explaining that he was king of Thebes. Some versions say that the rude Laius drove over Oedipus's sore foot, making him lose his temper.

Soon Oedipus's smarts saved the town of Thebes, and he was made king. (In a folk-tale within a folk-tale, Oedipus solved the Riddle of the Sphinx. "What animal has four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?" Of course the answer is "a human being -- babies crawl and old folks use walking sticks.") Oedipus married Laius's widow, Queen Jocasta. He ruled well, and they had four children.

Eventually, Oedipus and Jocasta found out what had really happened. (You must assume that accidentally killing your father and marrying your mother is a disaster.) Jocasta committed suicide, and Oedipus blinded himself and became a wandering beggar.

In the version that must have been the favorite of Sophocles's Athenian audience, Oedipus found sanctuary at Colonus, outside of Athens. The kindness he was shown at the end made the city itself blessed.

Anna Sui Flight of Fancy

Oh, wow. The design of the bottle is so awesome! The thing I love the most is the bottle stopper, it looks so pretty! Tested it when I went out the other day and it smells great! I don't care what I said the other day about buying perfumes, I'm so getting the big version of this. And oh! One more thing, the lady at the shop that has this in Times Square said that there's a promotion on this one. If I buy the big one, I'd get a mini version of this one PLUS other things, FREE. Hrm... I'm tempted.

Hrm, this design of the bottle looks nice on the net. Maybe it was because of the way they edited the photo. Well anyways, I love the smell of this. David said it smelled like soap, I didn't think so. The only bad thing I can say about this one is that it's expensive.
